Bio
Judith Brysk, MD
Why I Coach
As a medical doctor in OB GYN for 40 years, I coached patients on their lives one day per year at a time. The bonds we formed over the years made this annual check-up an annual check-in. I mentored residents, medical students and nurse practitioner students to find their place in medicine and create work-life balance. I spent several years coaching executives to advance and physicians on probation to progress in their careers. My life has been about helping people.
- Short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Pinpoint growth opportunities or untapped markets.
- Develop clear, measurable steps with deadlines.

Midlife and beyond can be challenging with everything in flux. There is menopause, being in the sandwich generation with aging parents and teenage children, children leaving the nest (or not), health issues, marital issues, work issues, the glass ceiling, work-life balance, and more. Women often find their voice in their forties and become aware of their own needs and potential in a way they had not before. If this sounds like your life, let me help you move forward in a way that fits your dreams and allows you to find joy and purpose in this new chapter.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
1. What is the difference between perimenopause and menopause?
Perimenopause is the stretch of time leading up to menopause when a woman has symptoms of menopause, but she still has periods. From month to month her hormone levels may be fluctuating. As a result, her periods may be irregular with flow changes and her symptoms may change each month. Menopause is when a woman has gone a full year without a period.
2. How does Mind Movies Method coaching differ from other coaching?
Mind Movies coaching, like other coaching, is about dealing with blocks (limiting beliefs), and either taking new action or getting rid of habits that don’t serve you. What is different is it uses 2 visualization techniques and brain wave entrainment to attune the vision to your brain’s imprint frequency. It makes your vision come to life.
3. What can anyone do about the “brain fog” in menopause?
The brain fog comes from several factors. Much has to do with sleep deprivation from hot flashes all night. Waking up hot and sweaty or cold from chilling after sweating disrupts sleep. Fatigue will make anyone irritable and not think as clearly. The effect of hormones on the brain is also a factor. Often people in menopause describe it as constant PMS. Shifting in brain hormones causes depression, anxiety and irritability. Stress overload also overwhelms the brain. There are only so many things our brain can hold on to at the same time. Putting the brain into stress mode, fight or flight, makes the brain select to concentrate on only key things. When running from a tiger, does a grocery list matter? To treat brain fog, all these factors must be assessed and dealt with. There are medical and non-medical options.
4. How do you know if you need coaching or therapy?
Sometimes it is hard to know, but there are real differences. Coaching is more about changing habits and actions and attitudes. It is about setting goals and having a vision for living a life in balance. If you have had chronic depression and are having a recurrence, you should probably see a therapist. If your weight loss problem stems from abuse as a child as opposed to bad habits, you need a therapist. Resolving mental health issues is a therapy thing, but living better in a life that makes you unhappy can be a place for coaching. In the discovery call, I will help discern if your issue is a coaching issue.
